Niels Taatgen is professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Groningen. He is specialized in computer simulations of intelligent human behaviour, working from a background in both computer science and psychology. From 2003 to 2009 he worked as visiting Associate Pro¬fessor at Carnegie Mellon University, working on theories about skill acquisition, multitasking, time perception and cognitive control. In 2011 he obtained an ERC starting grant to further pursue research on multitasking. Current¬ly, he is working on theories that can explain transfer of cognitive skill and the effects of cognitive training. This year, he was elected Teacher of the Year 2015.
